I had downloaded a firmware for my phone which is more likely the same with the iPhone composing message, because it’s hard for me to compose message using touch.

Yeah a factory reset and then official O2 Unlock should be ok,
although if you didn't purchase the phone through O2 i am unsure if
they will actually allow you to do the unlock as they won't have the
serial in their system. This is something you should TRIPLE check with
O2 before you do it.

If not, just jailbreak and unlock using ultrasn0w

I think i am going to do a factory reset of the phone. This will nullify the jailbreak, and then carry out an official O2 unlock, and re-enter the proper settings... and hopefully that will do the trick?

Hey Anthony,

Unfortunately i don't really have much of an idea what you can do. I guess you could try reset everything and see if that works?

Reset the MMS settings on the iPhone, as follows:

* Settings
* General
* Network
* Cellular data network
* Reset Settings

If you're a Pay Monthly customer but are not on an iPhone tariff then you will need to change two APN settings. Under cellular Data tap the APN setting and change it to mobile.o2.co.uk and then under MMS tap the APN setting and change it to wap.o2.co.uk

If you're a Pay & Go customer then you will need to change two APN settings. Under Cellular Data tap the APN setting and change it to payandgo.o2.co.uk and then under MMS tap the APN setting and change it to payandgo.o2.co.uk

Hi, I wonder if you can help me...

I bought an iphone 3g in the US while on holiday, and then it was unlocked and jailbroken for use on t-mobile then o2 in the uk.

The problem is that I can not send or receive mms. O2 say they have set up the provisions on my sim card for mms, and that the settings in my phone are correct. I text 1010, got the initial, we will set up the mms, but the actual mms doesnt come through.

Help?!

You need to speak to O2 and ask them to deliver MMS straight into your inbox instead of sending the web message. You'll have to say that you use your sim in another phone.

Hi all, no need to wait for any carrier message. If you have an unlocked iphone with an un-official carrier, this carrier will not be able to send you any of the setting to you (tried in vane all morning). Instead, get the settings from your carrier (APN, username&psswd, MMS Center-url, MMS proxy:port, MMS max size), punch them into you iphone, turn off, remove the sim card (I left mine for like 5-10 min) then replace sim, restart the phone and done and you will have the camera icon in your messaging app

MMS messages are 4 SMS messages or 24.79p (25p), just to clarify.
